I am a member of your constituency and I ask you to help protect children from those persons who commit crimes against children. You can do this by working to enact new legislation to strengthen and support existing laws, sentencing guidelines, sexual offender registries, reporting, GPS tracking of offenders, and community notification. I firmly request that you enact Jessica's Law, http://www.jessicaslaw2006.com/.
Sexual offenders released from prison have an extremely high rate of repeating sex crimes. This means other children will be abducted, kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and/or murdered. Current treatment for sexual offenders consists of control management therapy only. These treatments fail and there is NO CURE for this type of criminal. As evidence of this I offer the Jessica Lunsford case in Homosassa, Florida; the Kristen Jackson case of Wooster, Ohio; Jetsetta Gage of Iowa; and Dylan and Shasta Groene (survived) of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; among others - they are all victims of repeat sexual offenders.
Protect Our Children! Take a strong position against this non-curable criminal behavior. Strengthen the laws, lengthen incarceration, and pass strict legislation forcing porn industry web sites to use an obvious extension like .xxx (triple-x), .prn (porn), .skn (skin) for easier filtering by parents. Add life prison terms for first time offenders of violent child sexual assault/exploitation and to offenders threatening death to a child if a child reports such a crime. Add a capital penalty for murdered children cases. Incorporate advanced technology such as GPS tracking to manage, track, and find released and unregistered offenders. Add stricter reporting of released sexual offenders. Lower the standards for labeling a criminal a sexual offender. Add stricter standards for community notification of sexual offenders.
The United States of America ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution/exploitation and child pornography as a member of the United Nations. Although children do not vote and do not have income power your constituency expects the United States to uphold the Convention on the Rights of the Child in every way and be a leader in protecting children from all abuse, victimization, and exploitation. |
